The Japanese company Brother is one of the leading manufacturers of labelling solutions. Brother offer a range of label printers and label makers as well as an extensive and well thought out array of labels and tapes.

Brother P-Touch Tapes for a multitude of applications

The Brother P-Touch labelling tapes are abrasion-proof and resistant to heat, cold, water and some chemicals. Brother Label Tapes and labels are available in a variety of widths, colours and materials.

The Brother P-Touch Series includes handheld printers, PC-Label Printers and Label Makers, all of which are easy to use whilst offering maximum performance. The different machines produce labels for a variety of uses and applications.

There is a wide range of Brother P-Touch labels and labelling tapes. Unfortunately, not all Brother P-Touch products are compatible with every Brother P-Touch printer. It is therefore essential to check that the desired tapes or labels are suitable for your machine. You will find a list of compatible printers on the product detail page. Alternatively you can look up your printer and the page will show all compatible products.

Laminated Brother P-Touch Tapes (TZe)

Brother P-Touch TZe Labelling Tapes are laminated, which makes them particularly hard-wearing. The 6 layers of material form a strong, thin tape (160 micrometre thick). The layer of laminate makes the Brother TZe Tape particularly durable and resistant to external factors such as heat, cold, water, light and chemicals as well as abrasion. Brother P-Touch TZe labelling tapes stick to flat, curved as well as smooth surfaces and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The “e” in TZe stands for “environmental”, meaning that these tapes are packaged in a more environmentally friendly way, contain less plastic and are made from at least 5% recycled material. In general Brother TZe labelling tapes are compatible with all Brother TZ labelling tapes. Classic tapes are the TZe 231 in 12mm width with black lettering on a white background.

Non-laminated tapes (Brother TZe-N)

The Brother TZe-N non-laminated tapes, such as the TZe-N 231, offer an affordable alternative to Brother TZe laminated labelling tapes. These TZe-N tapes do however lack the protective layer of laminate. This makes them an ideal solution for labels which are often changed or replaced.

TZe-N tapes are suitable for:

• Names on school teaching material
• Disposable packaging
• Labelling of contents on storage containers
• Office utensils

Although not as durable as the laminated Brother TZe-Labelling Tapes, Brother TZe-N tapes still provide a reliable labelling solution in domestic or educational settings.

Extra strong adhesive Brother P-Touch Tapes (TZe-S)

Brother P-Touch extra strong adhesive tapes are designed for extreme handling and durability of labelling on machines, components, shelving, cupboards, storage systems, switch boxes, fuse boxes and desks.

Ideally suited for permanent labelling such as for example warning signs on technical equipment, room signs and lockers.

On average, extra strong adhesive tapes have a 50% better adhesive strength compared to Brother TZe standard tapes. The extra strong adhesive tapes range includes for example the TZe-S 231.

You can count on these labelling tapes: excellent adhesion to smooth and rough surfaces, flat and curved objects as well as a range of materials, for example stainless steel, glass, PVC, acryl, polypropylene and polyester coated wood.

The tapes are also abrasion-resistant, temperature-resistant and light-resistant (no fading), water resistant as well as resistant to many industrial chemicals (toluene, hexane, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, 0,1N hydrochloric acid, white spirit and 0,1 sodium hydroxide).

Brother extra flexible tapes (P-Touch TZe-FX)

Flexible laminated Brother P-Touch TZe Tapes are well-suited for high-quality, permanent labels on cables and wires.

The extremely flexible laminate layer of Brother TZe-FX tapes allows for adhesion to extremely small circumferences. This makes them ideal for the labelling of cables, wires and leads in switch-boxes. A standard model is the TZe-FX 231.

Thanks to the quality of the materials, Brother TZe-FX tapes are ideally suited for use on pipes and machines that heat up as well as bottles, test tubes, volumetric flasks etc. Just like standard Brother TZe tapes, this flexible laminated tape is also resistant to various chemicals, water, UV-light, heat and cold.

Brother Stencil Tapes (STe)

The Brother Stencil Tape STe is suitable for electrolytic labelling, discharge printing and metal marking. The tape serves as a securely holding stencil for permanent and individual labelling of electrically conductive components made of metal as well as knives, tools and parts. These tapes are currently available in three widths:

• 18mm: STe 141
• 24mm: STe 151
• 36mm: STe 161

High quality Brother Labelling Tapes (HGe)

Brother HGe Labelling Tape was developed for extra fast output as well as extra high printing quality. One of the products is the HGE 131 V5, which comes in packs of five, as do many of the products in this range.

• in mass labelling of individual items

Brother HGe tapes are suitable for extra fast printing, abrasion-resistant and water-repellent, temperature-resistant (-80 to 150 degrees Celsius) and resistant to various chemicals (toluene, hexane, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, 0,1N hydrochloric acid, white spirit and 0,1 sodium hydroxide).

Brother HGe labelling tapes were developed especially for commercial and industrial use so that they can be printed up to 8 times faster using the appropriate machines or in particularly high resolution (360x720dpi).

Brother Textile Labelling Tapes (TZe-FA)

The fusible Brother P-Touch Textile Speciality Tape TZe-FA is ideal for the creation of textile labels of any size which can be ironed on to various materials. The most commonly used product is the TZe-FA 3.

Ideal for labelling of workwear, uniforms, bedding and table linen. Textiles with iron-on textile labels can be washed and chemically cleaned.

Label your textiles – without sewing or embroidery:  Workwear and uniforms, children’s clothing, hats, scarfs and gloves can easily be labelled with the names of their owners.
